PACKAGE NUMBER: SC672 TITLE: Surface Preparation and Coating Protection
GENERAL
Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC) hereby invites interested parties to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) related to the future issuance of Requests for Qualifications and subsequent Requests for Tender for the following Scope of Work/Supply/Services package in connection with KKC’s EPC services for the Hebron GBS Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
SCOPE OF WORK
Surface preparation and coating application will be carried out on all surfaces that have been left uncoated during the pre-fabrication phase.
Surfaces to be coated will include:
• Titanium;
• 6Mo (Stainless Steel);
• Carbon Steel.
The type of materials for coating will include:
• Two-pack epoxy coatings;
• Thermal Sprayed Aluminum (TSA).
System Completion will also consist of:
• Surface preparation through High Pressure wash (HPW)
• Abrasive blast cleaning of field joints to thermally insulated risers
Systems Repair will be carried out to various small areas where touch ups are required on previously coated surfaces using the same type of coating and materials.
The sub-contractor will be required to supply all equipment to carry out the scope of work whether on the Bull Arm construction site or at the offsite prefabrication facilities. The equipment includes but is not limited to:
• Compressors and hoses;
• Abrasive Blast cleaning units;
• Airless Spray units;
• Equipment for Metallization
• All specialized safety equipment for Abrasive Blast Cleaning and Airless Spray Painting and Metallization
• Supply of the aluminum wires required for the application of Thermal Spray Aluminum (TSA);
• General painting consumables.
In general, materials to be coated and coating material will be free issued.

Potential Subcontractor will be using Company’s MIPS material management system for material administration, recording and inspection of coated items, recording of material traceability and recording and reporting of coating status and progress.

This package can be split between several Subcontractors.
Selected Subcontractor will be expected to respond to the following requirements:
• Maintain available enough labour, facilities, tools and equipment to handle the volumes requested in the time frames required by the Project;
• Comply with the project’s documentation and reporting requirements;
• Comply with the Coating operations requirements as stated in the NORSOK M-501, rev. 6 for Surface Preparation and Protective Coating as well as the QA procedures.

Applicant(s) must clearly identify the procurement package code assigned to this EOI in their responses. Applicants’ EOI submissions must provide the complete company name and address and the names, titles and telephone numbers of two contact persons.
It is important to note that the EOI phase will be used to identify candidates that may be invited to participate in the prequalification process. Participation in this EOI process, including any statements or representations, whether oral or written between KKC and interested applicants, shall not create or be deemed to create, any binding legal relationship or contract.

To ensure all potential supply communities are informed of upcoming opportunities KKC will be posting all EOI’s on BIDS.ca and NOIA.ca. There is no formal document required to submit an EOI to KKC however in all email submissions we ask that the title of the email follow the below naming convention.
