Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC) is inviting submissions of an Expression of Interest for a potential opportunity for Shaft platforms and Pipe Supports for the Bull Arm Site, Trinity Bay, in Newfoundland & Labrador (NL), Canada for the Hebron Project.
The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to:
SC601 Shaft Platforms and Pipe Supports
The major part of each of the four 33m ID Shaft Platforms and Structural Steel will be fabricated into two half sections and one guide frame for the conductors which will be welded to the top of the completed platform after it is installed. Each platform will weigh approximately 250 tonnes and the total weight to be fabricated is approximately 1000 tonnes.
Pipe supports will be fabricated in accordance with structural drawings in various sizes.
Potential supplier will be required to have a steel workshop that is able to bend, form, cut, weld and perform necessary surface treatment according to the requirements.
In general materials will be free issued by Contractor. The supplied plate, structural steel and grating will all need to be prefabricated into platforms, conductor guides and pipe supports. Anodes need weld to the platforms. Coatings will be specified in accordance with GP 29-02-02 “Painting General Requirements – Offshore”/11/ and other relevant Company GPs. Supplier responsible for transportation of fabricated sections to Bull Arm. Potential supplier will be using Company’s MIPS system for material administration, recording and inspection of welds, recording of material traceability and recording and reporting of fabrication status and progress.
The Minimum Requirements for the Preferred Supplier
• Enough capacity to handle the volumes in the time frame we require in the project.
• Necessary facilities to handle the scope of work from Contractor in due time.
• Ability to comply with the project’s documentation and reporting requirements
• Fabricate according to CAN/CSA-Z19902-09 and NORSOK M-101, rev. 5 for Structural
• Hebron Structural Steel Specification – CAHE-KA-RSZZZ-50-000-0009
• Steel will be supplied shot blasted and shop primed
• Engineering and shop drawings will be provided.
• Anodes supplied by contractor
• Capability to provide dimensional control of fabricated process and final as-built reporting to ensure compliance with fabrication tolerances.
• Necessary tools and equipment to handle the scope of work
• Necessary welding and QA procedures to handle the scope of work

KKC in its sole discretion reserves the right to make the final determination of which applicants will receive an Invitation to Tender (ITT), which applicant(s) or combinations thereof will be awarded the final contract(s), or alternatively to not proceed with the ITT process.
The Bull Arm Fabrication site will be operating on a special project labour agreement. A Project description is available on the Hebron Project website (www.hebronproject.com).
Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors strongly supports providing opportunities to commercially competitive Canadian companies and in particular those from Newfoundland and Labrador. At the Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage a comprehensive Benefits Questionnaire will be required to be completed.

If potential suppliers chose not to register with BIDS.ca, they are requested to advise KKC that they will not be registering and to request direct registration in KKC’s supplier database.
