REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

HEBRON GBS Project
BIDS Categories: 2805
Issue Date: 15-April-2014
Closing Date: 30-April-2014

PACKAGE NUMBER: BN681 TITLE: Dropped Pump Protection (DPP) Bullets
GENERAL
Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC) hereby invites interested parties to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) related to the future issuance of Requests for Qualifications and subsequent Requests for Tender for the following Scope of Work/Supply/Services package in connection with KKC’s EPC services for the Hebron GBS Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Scope of Work for DPP bullets comprises all phases of fabrication engineering, production, preparation for shipment and documentation of the DPP bullets.
The DPP bullets will be installed into each caisson, where a dropped pump event can occur. There are three (3) typical designs of the DPP bullets as shown below.
Preliminary quantities and sizes:
•Fire Water and Crude Oil Caissons – 14 off, OD = 900mm, L = 240mm
•Sea Water Stand By Caissons – 2 off, OD = 770mm, L=240mm
•Sampling Caissons – 2 off, OD = 195mm, L= 70mm

Three (3) options related to the fabrication method are proposed as follows:
•Option 1: Bullets made from cast stainless steel (6Mo)
•Option 2: Bullets made from carbon steel plate with corrosion resistant weld metal overlay
•Option 3: Bullets made from stainless steel plate (6Mo)

If option 1, fabrication is preferably performed by a manufacturer qualified in accordance with NORSOK Standard M-650 for cast 6Mo materials. Manufacturers not qualified in accordance with mentioned standard may be considered upon review of evidence of qualification and experience producing materials of the type and quality required.
If option 2, welded fabrication shall be in accordance with CSA W59 and the fabricator shall be certified to CSA W47.1. Overlay welding shall be performed in accordance with ASME Section IX. Overlay welding shall be performed by a fabricator with experience providing corrosion resistant cladding/weld metal overlay of carbon steel substrates. Penetrant testing according to ASME Section V is required.
If option 3, fabrication shall be in accordance with the project specification for welding and inspection of piping, which covers 6Mo materials. Requirements are similar to NORSOK Standard M-601, which is an acceptable alternative to the project specification. Penetrant testing is required.
Fabrication Work Order(s) is anticipated to be awarded 25-July-2014, and shall be completed by the end of October 2014.
All raw/bulk steel material shall be procured by fabricator. All transport of completed components to be arranged by KKC.
If additional project information is required, please visit the Hebron Project website at www.hebronproject.com or the KKC website at www.kkc-gbs.com.
