Amendment #6

The following questions have been presented to PNB:

Q1: Y20 B01 Marysville Warehouse is it a separate inspection from Y28 B01 Marysville Place or included ?
A1: Y 28 Marysville Place and the Y20 Marysville Warehouse had separate sprinkler systems and a common fire alarm panel.

Q2: Y24 B01 Old Education Building and Departmental Building are they separate inspections from Legislature Building or included?
A2: Old Education, Departmental and Legislature have separate sprinkler systems( Old Education is to be completed this summer) and separate fire alarm systems.

Q3: Y49 BO1 VHC Boilder House is it a separate inspection from VHC or included ?
A3: Y49 VHC Boiler House and VHC have separate fire alarm panels and VHC only has a sprinkler system.

All other information remains the same.

The following questions have been presented to PNB:

Q1: As per reports received, Student Services has a fire alarm system only. Appendix A indicates there is a sprinkler system, back flow, and fire pump. Please confirm.
A1: Fire alarm system only.

Q2: Can a vendor submit more than bid .. example a package per Region and a separate package for all buildings?
A2: There is a specific bid sheet for this yes, it is part of the package.
Instructions to bidders 1.6.1 to 1.6.5 is each region individually, 1.6.6 is all regions combined....

Please note: In 1.6.6 it should read all regions instead of grand falls and as per section 1.6.6 instead of 1.6.5.

All other information remains the same.

Amendment #3

The following questions have been presented to PNB:

Q1: Please confirm the following:
Page 5 section .5 .1 states that certain buildings as outlined can have testing done during the day but all bells must be tested after hours.
Please confirm what the time is for after hours. (i.e. before 7am after 4:30pm, etc.)
A1: Regular business hours shall be from 8am to 5pm.

Q2: Appendix A - 3 - Moncton Region lists Memramcook Institute - Beaumont - this building was removed from the previous life safety contract in 2016. Please confirm that it is to be added back in or if this is an oversight.

Appendix A 2 - Saint John/St. Stephen Region - lists Sussex Provincial Bldg at 707 Main and Sussex Justice Building at 707 Main. Please confirm if there are two separate systems or if this is the same building.
A2: Beaumont building should be removed, yes.

Sussex Provincial and Sussex Justice are two separate buildings.

Site visits are strongly recommended. Extras will not be allowed for not visiting the sites.

Q3: Please clarify if standpipe systems are to be tested annual or quarterly.
A3: Quarterly.

All other information remains the same.

The following questions have been presented to PNB:

Q1: We're required to provide a price on the combination of Fire Sprinklers, Fire Alarm, kitchen hood ranges etc or can we submit a bid for only the Fire Sprinklers and related components?
A1: It has to include all building components listed for all buildings in each region.

Q1: Please advise if the Tide Head Weigh Scale is to be included given that it is a security system and no a fire alarm system.
A1: Please disregard the Tide Head Weigh Scale building from the tender.

The following questions have been presented to PNB:

Q1: If contractor is submitting a bid for every region, can one bid bond for 10% be submitted for the entire package or do individual bid submissions per region have to be submitted with separate bid bond for each.
A1: One bid bond covers the entire package.

Q2: Section 20 Preventive Maintenance Service
Sprinklers: All system inspections, testing and maintenance for systems mentioned above shall be in accordance with NFPA25, latest edition

Please clarify as to the exact scope of NFPA 25 as it calls for daily, weekly, monthly inspections as well as annual, semi-annual and quarterly.
A2: Sprinkler inspections are quarterly.

Q3: Section 20 Preventive Maintenance Service
Fire Alarm: Fire alarm system inspection, testing and maintenance shall be in compliance with CAN/ULC sw536 latest edition.

Please clarity as to the exact scope of CAN/ULC S536 as it calls for daily, weekly, monthly inspections as well as annual inspections.
A3: Fire alarm is an annual inspection.
